Participation From Local School Children
A great day was had last Friday at the Island Schools Art Festival representing Sheerness Dockyard Preservation Trust with an outdoor activity and information stand, the event was attended by 360 children from 11 local schools in total.
We led a quick architectural drawing activity with 120 children from 4 schools throughout the day and we were able to display the panels from the library showing our proposed building designs, answer questions, and get useful contacts with teachers and local groups too.
Corinna Dean who is the new 'ROOM' artist in residence also attended to kick off her time with us and will be in 'ROOM' over the coming 6 months. 'ROOM' is an arts project using a refurbished shipping container situated to the far west of the site, were artists take up residency and use their skills in relation to the Dockyard Church.
